The water-level in 42 small and medium water reservoirs had improved considerably due to the copious rains during the past few days in the State. The State Data Center of the Water Resources Department report said that on an average most of the reservoirs are filled to 46.35 % capacity. There was an average increase of 11 per cent water in reservoirs during the past ten days. There was an average of 35 per cent capacity water in the reservoirs on 25 July. The quantity of water was two thousand 905 million cubic meter in the 42 irrigation water reservoirs.
State Government's Water Resource Department has given revised administrative sanction of Rs 13 crore three lakh 13 thousand for construction of Son Diversion Scheme of Bamhanihdih block of Janjgir-Champa district. This amount has been sanctioned under small irrigation scheme (non-tribal) under NABARD.
Water Resource Department has issued sanction orders from Mantralaya (Mahanadi Bhavan) to Chief Engineer, Hasdeo Kachhar Bilaspur. This irrigation scheme will expand irrigation facilities to 2 thousand 429 hectares area in kharif season.
